Hello fellow writers! I’m Kerry, and welcome to The Write Place .Co where I hope you’ll find everything you need to confidently write and submit your writing to the people and places that need to read it.
Through courses, workshops and practical experience I have learnt a lot about writing. I have covered pretty much everything in that time, both fiction and non-fiction – including novels, short stories, scripts, radio plays, magazine and website articles, blogging for businesses, SEO, press releases, copy editing and content, marketing, building platforms, researching, and even submitting to the bigwigs. I have hands on practice and I have supported individual writers, and writing groups, with proofreading, feedback, editing and motivational life coaching. Gradually building this brand has been a dream come true. So I hope you’ll agree I’ve covered everything you need to know.
I wanted to create a virtual writer’s group and support network that would give writers, like you, the tools to reach your potential, and the information you need to be the best you can be. These are the things I wish I had known when I was just starting out, when I was first pondering how a person could become a writer, in real life. I wanted to put all the tricks, tips, and essential info all in one place, and here it is.
If there’s anything you think I’ve missed, or want to know, just ask and I’ll see what I can do. Good luck, and happy writing.
Other than writing fiction and non-fiction, coaching individual writers, artists and creatives, leading workshops, facilitating writers’ groups and writing for businesses… What else do I do? Below you’ll find some of the experience I’ve gained and am proud to include on my CV –

September 2013 – September 2014: MA Creative Writing @ Southampton University
The full time program was made up of a weekly critique group with published author Alison, where we read and critiqued each other’s work, and explored a huge variety of writing exercises and assignments. We were taught two modules of fiction writing taught by published short story writer Aamer Hussein, through which we studied, analysed, and critiqued published authors before writing our own inspired by the work we researched. Script writing was taught by Evan Placey, through which we learnt writing for radio, tv, film, and theatre with practical sessions collaborating with professional actors to read our work. Published author Rebecca Smith taught a module covering children’s literature and she closely supervised my dissertation, with one to one tutorial sessions, to polish my debut novel ‘Little Lost’ accompanied by a self-reflective critical analysis of my process as a writer. The MA also offered an opportunity to collaborate with BSc students, acting as a professional commission to advertise their research, pictured here…
